In this workshop you will learn how to make natural handmade soap from scratch using the hot process method.You will learn:
Basic terminology, common ingredients, required equipment & tools.
How to safely work with sodium hydroxide
How to customize your soap with botanicals, colorants, fragrances & other additives
How to create your own formula/recipe.
Where to buy soap making supplies
You will be making a 1-pound batch of soap in-class to take home. Supplies and equipment will be provided to use during class, this includes an apron and gloves. You will need to bring your own safety goggles and a face mask. We will be working with sodium hydroxide (lye), so be sure to wear long sleeves and pants, and closed toe shoes. Ages 18 & older only. Class is limited to 4 participants.
